CairnAcre’s Silk Taffeta joined Ashwood in the fall of 2005.  She comes to us from long time breeder and CTCA member, Clare Redditt.  “Taffe” sports a wonderful happy disposition, naturally self stacks, and has a beautiful coat, outline, and classic cairn head.  We are lucky to have her here and look forward to showing her in the future as she matures.

Taffe began her show career in March 2006 at the Cairn Terrier Club of Greater Detroit’s specialty weekend.  Taffe won the 9-12 puppy class both days of the Specialties and surprised us by getting reserve Winner’s Bitch from the puppy class.  Taffe was also Best puppy and Best in Sweeps under breeder judge Jill Martinez (Kennel MacTam).

In April 2006, at a busy show circuit in NJ known for its annual “best puppy” competitions, Taffe won her first Best the Breed at the first day of that cluster, she also won a Group 4 in the regular Terrier Group, and then followed that up by going straight into the puppy Terrier group and winning that too.  Later that day she took home the prestigious Best in Show Puppy ribbon under terrier judge Betty Anne Stenmark — defeating over 300 puppies! The next day, Taffe won the Breed again, this time going over a special as well.  It was a great local debut for this girl.  Taffe is co-owned with her breeder, Clare.
